Postville man sentenced on charges filed for allegedly sexually assaulting two 13-year-old girls

A Postville man has received two 10-year sentences for 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse and Lascivious Acts with a Child. 20-year-old Wilmer Elias Soy of Postville was sentenced in Fayette County District Court to two 10-year sentences to be served concurrently as the result of charges filed last June.
The Fayette County Sheriff's Office on June 4thinvestigated a report that two 13-year-old girls were picked up without the permission or knowledge of their parents or guardians in West Union and were taken to a remote area north of West Union and allegedly sexually assaulted. The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office also assisted in the investigation.
The Fayette County Sheriff's Office along with the Domestic and Sexual Abuse Response Team (DASART), assisted the two female victims by providing them with resources to help them and their families throughout this process.
