Letter to the Editor: The Decorah City Council seems to be the pot calling the kettle black

(The following Letter to the Editor has been submitted by Dave Ohlert of Decorah):

"As with most people in town, I don't like paying more for anything than I have to. Monday the Decorah City Council met to discuss a resolution opposing the Alliant Energy proposed rate increase. Why didn't the city council at the same time discuss a resolution opposing themselves and their constant water, sewer and tax rate increases? Same-same.

Here's a funny thought: Why not get together with Alliant and discuss rates and maybe work out a contract with them instead of running around acting tuff?"
