For the first time in eight years, the Decorah Parks and Recreation Board has approved increases in passes to the Decorah Swimming Pool.
The base rate of a daily pass will increase 50 cents to $5.00 this summer. Other admission packages will reflect the base rate increase, with punch pass cards increasing by $5, with a punch pass for seniors 65 and older costing $40 and punch pass cards for everyone else costing $50.
Season passes will also be affected. A senior pass will now cost $65 for the season, with an individual pass for people younger than 65 costing $75. Family passes will cost from $135 to $175, depending upon the size of the family.
Park-Rec Director Andy Nimrod says the increase in swimming pool fees will raise an expected $11,000 in additional revenue, with the money used to pay for improvements and operational costs at the pool
