Decorah woman faces a criminal charge after allegedly striking a police officer

The Decorah Police Department says officers have arrested a 47-year-old Decorah resident.  Police were called to the home of Brenda Chapman on Sunday afternoon.  When an officer arrived, Chapman allegedly became combative and struck the officer in the face.  The officer was not injured.

Chapman was placed under arrest and taken to the Winneshiek County Jail, where she remains in custody.
