The Iowa Department of Public Health is reporting that a second unvaccinated person in northeast Iowa has contracted the measles.
As with the first case, which was reported earlier this month, the location of the second case was not disclosed beyond saying that it was in Northeast Iowa. However, the second person was described as someone who had "household contact" with the first person who became ill with the extremely infectious virus. The first patient had traveled recently to Israel, which is dealing with a measles outbreak.
