The Sixth Annual Luther College Dance Marathon has raised over $50,000 for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital--$50,130.22, to be exact.
The 12-hour event overnight Saturday at the Luther Regents Center featured guest performers, speakers, games and, of course, dancing. LCDM is a part of a larger national movement, Miracle Network Dance Marathon, which is centered around celebrating the lives and struggles of children with serious and terminal illnesses.
In addition to providing emotional and financial support to the children, LCDM has received a special project from the hospital and will spend the next two years raising funds specifically for the Music Therapy and Child Life departments of the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.
