Two students from St. Benedict School in Decorah have been invited to the State Invent Iowa event on April 15th in Iowa City.

Molly Kuehner and Aiden Whalen both had inventions which focused on keeping their pets safe.

Kuehner's invention is called the "Illumipet."  It is a dog vest that lights up and is equipped with a GPS  tile locator to help people find their dog with GPS should it become lost.  The light is to allow your dog to be seen during hunting season, so as not to be mistaken for a deer.

Whalen's invention is called the "Hot Diggity Dog."  It is an invention designed to alert you on your phone should the temperature in your car get too hot for your pet.  There is an indicator light for three ranges of temperature: cold, medium (the optimum) and hot (over 85 degrees).
