Hit and run accident leads to O.W.I. arrest

The Decorah Police Department reports responding to a hit and run accident in the early morning hours on Saturday.

At 3:30 a.m., 16-year-old Gunnar Grinna of Decorah and 18-year-old Dominic Jenkins of Lanesboro, Minnesota were driving westbound on Highway 9 when Grinna intentionally rammed the rear bumper of Jenkins' 2007 Chevrolet Equinox. Both vehicles turned northbound on Highway 52 and Grinna pulled alongside Jenkins' vehicle and intentionally rammed his left rear door, attempting to force Jenkins' vehicle off the road. Grinna eventually turned off of Highway 52 and drove his 2008 Chevrolet Impala into Decorah where he was stopped by Decorah law enforcement officers.

Grinna was arrested and charged with violation of a graduated license, reckless driving and operating while intoxicated 1st offense.
