On Saturday evening at 6pm the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office received a report of an incident/disturbance in Hesper involving a firearm. 54-year-old Patrick Curran of Decorah fled the area prior to deputy's arrival. During the investigation/search for Curran the sheriff's office obtained information that Curran was at a residence in rural Houston County, MN.
Curran was taken into custody without incident in Houston County, MN. Curran is being held in the Houston County Jail on a Winneshiek County arrest warrant for felony burglary 1st degree, felony felon in possession of a firearm and felony stalking with a dangerous weapon. Curran is being held on a $50,000 cash bond. This case remains under investigation and additional charges are pending including felony domestic assault.
The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Decorah Fire Department, Winneshiek Medical Center Ambulance, Houston County Sheriff's Office, Caledonia Police Department and Spring Grove Police Department.
