The Decorah Community Interim School Board has proposed the levy rate for the 2019-20 budget year. It is slightly more complicated since it has two rates – one for the previous North Winneshiek District residents, and one for the former Decorah District residents. Different rates were negotiated as part of the merger.
The new proposed rate for the former Decorah residents will be $12.55366 per $1,000 taxable valuation, down from $13.82683. The new proposed rate for residents of the former North Winneshiek District will be $11.79983, up from $9.73526. North Winneshiek residents did not have any debt service or impose a PPEL levy prior to the merger.
The public hearing on the proposed budget has been set for 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 8 at the Central Administration Office.
