Sidewalk bench destroyed in Tuesday morning accident

A Decorah man struck a park bench on Water Street and Winnebago Street shortly before 7:00 Tuesday morning, destroying the bench and doing $3,000 in damages to his vehicle.

Decorah Police say 73-year-old Lee Zook noticed that his car windshield was frosty and was trying to clear it when he lost control of his vehicle.  Zook was ticketed for driving with a frosted windshield.  He was not injured.
