A Cresco man faces several charges following a 14-mile high-speed chase Saturday that ended east of Ridgeway.
According to KIMT-TV news, Cresco Police were called to a home in Cresco around 4:30 Saturday morning for a possible domestic dispute. When police arrived they found 29-year-old Richard Dale Ogle holding a gun to his girlfriend's head. Ogle got into a car and drove east on Highway 9, hitting speeds of 100 miles per hour and allegedly firing gunshots at the pursuing officers.
Ogle was finally stopped and arrested three miles east of Ridgeway on HIghway 9. A handgun with a spent shell and a bag with 21 rounds of ammunition were found. A breath test reportedly showed Ogle had a blood alcohol content of .118.
Ogle is charged with attempting to elude, going armed with intent, two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, carrying weapons, domestic abuse assault, and OWI.
