The Decorah City Council will hold a public hearing at 5:45 p.m. on Monday, April 15th on a key part of the effort to attract a Hy Vee grocery store to Decorah.

The public hearing will consider whether to offer tax incremental financing incentives for Ridge Development, which would spend a projected $3 million to upgrade the building.  Under the proposal, for 15 years the developer would not be charged property taxes on the increased valuation of the building.

The Decorah City Council voted 6-0 Monday night in favor of holding the public hearing.
