Charles City man arrested on several charges after a rural Decorah traffic accident

45-year-old Anthony Hoffman of Charles City faces four charges after police were called to a home at 2367 Siewers Spring Road in Decorah on Friday.

A Decorah police office arrived at the scene first and discovered a vehicle had hit an electrical box at the home.  When the officer contacted the driver of the vehicle, he allegedly found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia on Hoffman.

Hoffman was initially charged with First Offense Operating While Intoxicated, but when his clothing was searched at the County Jail, more methamphetamine was discovered and Hoffman was also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Contraband in a Correctional Institution.
