Fire training facility gets a big boost

Plans for a fire training facility on Old Stage Road in Decorah are getting a big financial boost.  

Black Hills Energy says it will support the Decorah Fire Department with a $10,000 pledge for their new fire training facility.  Black Hills also plans to make an in-kind donation of natural gas meters for use in exercises at the new facility.

Black Hills Energy spokesperson Laura Roussell says, "This facility will be a great benefit not only to the Decorah Fire Department but also to surrounding departments."

A check presentation will be held in the very near future.
