County supervisors approve 2019-2020 pay raises for elected officials

Winneshiek County's elected officials are receiving four percent or five percent pay raises.
The Winneshiek County Board Monday unanimously approved the recommendations of the County Compensation Board that elected county officials should receive four percent pay raises, with Sheriff Dan Marx receiving a five percent pay raise.
Under the new salary schedule, Sheriff Dan Marx would be paid $87,718; County Attorney Andy Van Der Maaten's salary would be $78,869; County Treasurer Wayne Walter's salary would be $66,853; County Auditor Ben Steines' salary would be $66,340; and newly- elected County Recorder Jayne Schultz's salary would be $62,938.
