Decorah firefighters called to home on River Street

The Decorah Fire Department was called to a home at 906 River Street Wednesday morning, shortly after 9:30.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, they saw smoke was venting out of the attic roof vents.  Firefighters pulled down the ceiling to gain access to the fire in the attic and extinguished it. 

No injuries were reported.  The cause remains under investigation.

Firefighters were on-scene for about an hour and a half and were assisted by Alliant Energy, Black Hills Energy, Decorah Police Department and WMC Ambulance.
