Decorah's last day of school will be June 7th -- for now

With the onslaught of messy weather and what seems like a never-ending string of snow days, it's difficult to imagine warm weather and summer activities, but those days are coming.  Summer vacations, park and rec activities, and other commitments are already on the calendar, so just how far into June will this school year will go?

As of today, the Decorah Community School District has had 18 weather-related closures -- 10 full day cancellations and 8 partial day closures (late starts/early outs). One of those days was during the month of December, but the 17 others occurred between January 3rd and February 26th. That's 17 weather-related closures in 36 school days.

Originally, Decorah's last day of school was scheduled to be Tuesday, May 28th, but the updated calendar now has Decorah dismissing at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 7th.
