Registration has begun for a class for caregivers

The Winneshiek County Extension Office, in partnership with Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging, is sponsoring a six-week class for caregivers starting in March.

"Powerful Tools for Caregivers" is a series of 2.5 hour sessions designed to provide tools to people caring for elderly people.  Participants will learn how to reduce stress, improve self-confidence, better communicate feelings, balance lifestyles, increase the ability to make tough decisions and locate helpful resources.

Sessions are scheduled every Friday for six weeks and begin on March 8th. Classes will be held at the Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging office at 607 Washington Street in Decorah from 9:30 a.m. until noon.

There is a $30 fee for the program and includes "The Caregiver Helpbook" (a $30 value).
