The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office says a tow truck from Bill's Towing of Decorah was struck around 5:00 a.m. Wednesday morning as it was towing a vehicle out of a ditch off of Highway 52 in Calmar Township.

Waucoma resident Scott Kime was driving a semi-truck and trailer southbound on Highway 52 and lost control, slid off the roadway and struck the tow truck.  Tow truck driver William Keefe was knocked to the ground in the accident, but no ambulance transport was needed.

The accident is still under investigation. There was approximately $25,000 in damage

The Sheriff's Office says, "Please remember Iowa's Move Over Law, which applies to tow truck operators. You must slow down and move over when you see emergency vehicles and lights!"
