Next school year in Decorah will start August 23rd

The 2019-2020 school calendar in the Decorah Community School District calls for teachers to begin working August 15th and students to begin attending class August 23rd.

The calendar presented to school board members Wednesday night also has vacations in December, February and April.

For the end of the school year in 2020, seniors would have their last day of classes on May 21st, Commencement would be held May 24th and all other Decorah students would have their last day of classes on May 29th.

There were no public comments in opposition to the 2019-2020 calendar on Wednesday night.
