Members of the Luther College Board of Regents met on campus in Decorah earlier this month for a winter strategic retreat.
The focus of the Regents was on strategy, governance, risk management, and leadership transition. That included a review of the approach the college is taking to transition to new leadership.
Board of Regents Chair Wendy Davidson and Board Vice Chair and Presidential Search Committee Chair Bob Paulson say, "Our search for Luther College's 11th president remains on track and the search committee expects to complete its process for the Board of Regents to elect and announce a new president later this spring."
Luther College has also formed a Transition Committee which will both plan the celebration of Dr. Carlson's retirement and plan the welcome of Luther's next president. The Transition Committee includes Regents, Regent Emeriti, faculty and faculty emeriti, alumni, parents, students, staff, cabinet, and the Decorah community. Sandee Joppa has been named chair of the Transition Committee.
