Decorah School District is looking to hire more bus drivers

Last October, decorahnews.com highlighted the issues the Decorah Community School District had in finding enough bus drivers (http://www.decorahnews.com/archived-stories/2018/10/20458.html).  The situation is still a concern for school officials.

School Superintendent Mike Haluska wants people to know the school district is again looking to hire bus drivers. The current minimum pay is $35.32 per morning or afternoon bus route. The current activity route pay is $16.15 an hour.

Bus drivers must possess a valid Iowa driver's license and a valid CDL license and bus driver's permit, including passenger endorsement, "S" endorsement and air brakes endorsement if necessary Bus drivers must take a biennial Department of Transportation physical exam and meet all established physical fitness requirements.
