Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office clarifies towing policy

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office has clarified its towing policy in the wake of the Iowa Department of Transportation issuing a tow ban for Winneshiek County.

The Sheriff's Office DOES NOT recognize tow bans issued by the Iowa DOT.  The Sheriff's Office will decide if it is safe to tow vehicles on a case by case basis.

For future reference, if a tow ban is needed in Winneshiek County, it will be issued by the Sheriff's Office.
