Volunteers at the Humane Society of Northeast Iowa (HSNEI) are working hard to grant the last wish of a dying Decorah man.

Dick Davenport has been diagnosed with cancer.  He has devoted thousands of hours helping animals at the Humane Society, but now the Humane Society is working to help him.  Davenport's greatest wish is for his five cats to find new homes before he died.  One cat--"Stoop"--has already found a new home, but four other cats--"Bridget," "Herbie," "Madison" and "Petey"--still need new homes.

HSNEI volunteers say all four cats are spayed or neutered and have updated vaccinations.  The cats live indoors and are litter box trained.

More information about the cats is available at: https://www.facebook.com/kimpowelliowa.  Questions can be e-mailed to Kim Powell at kimpowell@luther.edu.

If the cats are not adopted by the end of the week, they will leave Davenport's home and be taken to the Humane Society shelter.
