Additional Winneshiek County charge filed against Cresco man

A Winneshiek County charge of drug-related Operating While under the Influence has been filed against 22-year-old Steven Geerts of Cresco.

Geerts was stopped by Winneshiek County Sheriff's Deputies December 14th at the Highway 9 and 52 intersection and arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.  He was taken to the Winneshiek County Jail, where he was given a toxicology test.  The results from that test have now come back and they showed Geerts was under the influence of drugs when stopped on December 14th.  That has led to the third charge being filed against him.
