Calmar will be the next building site for Winneshiek County Habitat for Humanity.
WCHFH recently dedicated a new home in Ridgeway for Rachel Blake and her three young children. It was the 31st home the organization has built in Winneshiek County.
With that project ending, WCHFH is now seeking a partner family for its 2019 project, a house in Calmar. Partner families must have a stable employment record and a history of financial responsibility, demonstrate that they currently have an inadequate housing situation, and be willing to work alongside volunteers. Selected partner families must be able to invest at least 150 hours of labor or "sweat equity" into building their homes and the homes of others. Once a project is complete, WCHFH houses are sold to selected partner families at no profit and with no interest charged.
"We are thrilled to return to Calmar for our 2019 home build," says WCHFH Executive Director Gus Johnson.
