A snow emergency is in effect in the City of Decorah

The City of Decorah is enacting a snow emergency.
People are being asked to park on the even numbered side of city streets until the plows have plowed the odd side of the street. At that point, motorists are asked to move their parked vehicles to the opposite side of the street.
Once the street has been completely plowed on both sides, normal parking will resume.
People parking in downtown Decorah will have to follow the parking regulations. If there is a violation, their vehicle most likely will be towed in order for the city plows to be able to clear all the downtown streets. However, at the plow driver's discretion, cars parked anywhere in the city limits may be towed at owner's expense in order to get streets plowed, regardless of the snow emergency policy. It is best to keep cars off the city streets if possible.
