The Iowa State Patrol says a head-on collision on Highway 9 in Decorah shortly after noon on Monday was caused when a Calmar woman lost control of her vehicle.
36-year-old Michelle Quanrude of Calmar has been ticketed for failure to maintain control and for failure to provide proof of financial liability.
The Iowa State Patrol says Quanrude was driving east on Highway 9 shortly after 12:15 p.m. when she lost control of her vehicle, which then crashed head-on into a westbound vehicle being driven by 22-year-old Ashley Dougherty of Waukon.
The accident caused a total of $28,000 in damages. Three passengers in Quanrude's vehicle—Dominick Quanrude, Raelynn Williams and Memphis Williams-- were taken by ambulance to Winneshiek Medical Center. Quanrude was uninjured, while Dougherty suffered minor injuries.
