Three Decorah musicians participate in the Iowa Junior Honors Orchestra

Three students in the Decorah School District were invited to participate in the Iowa Junior Honors Orchestra.

Selected to attend the festival from Decorah High School were ninth grade violinists Arlo Hayes and Adrian Huang. Selected to attend from Decorah Middle School was bassist Sally Laybourn.

The Iowa Junior Honors Orchestra Festival began in 1992 as a way to give younger students an all-state level experience. The festival, sponsored by the Iowa String Teacher's Association, is a one-day event held in the same complex and at the same time as the Iowa All-State Music Festival.
