Minor changes being made in Winneshiek County's UTV ordinance

Winneshiek County officials are realizing that a few minor tweaks are needed in the new ordinance allowing utility vehicles to ride on some county roads.
Supervisors on Monday approved a change in the language of the ordinance which would allow out-of-state UTV riders to get a Winneshiek County permit by showing an Iowa DNR permit. The previous wording had asked out-of-state UTVers for "registration"--something they would do in their home state.
Also Monday, supervisors learned the UTV permit stickers which had been sold by the county were falling off the vehicles quickly. New permit stickers were ordered and have arrived. The new, stickier stickers are now being mailed to everyone who had gotten an older sticker.
