List of possible new Decorah School Superintendents reduced to seven

The Decorah School Board has reduced the list of candidates for Decorah School Superintendent from 28 to 7.

School board members met recently in closed session with search consultants to review the 28 applications the school district received.  They selected seven candidates for the next step in the process--video conferencing interviews on January 22nd.

The school board will then choose the finalists for the position and will release their names to the public.  The finalists will be invited to Decorah on January 28th, where formal interviews will be held at Luther College.  The finalists will also get a tour of the school district and the community.

The school board hopes to select a new superintendent on or before February 1st.
