Business is booming in Winneshiek County for people who have listed properties with Airbnb.
The company has released figures saying that in 2018 Winneshiek County was Iowa's third most popular Aribnb destination. The county had 6,400 bookings which brought in $551,000 in revenues.
While Polk County and Johnson County had higher totals, the figures mean Winneshiek County had more Airbnb bookings than the counties that are home to Cedar Rapids, Davenport, Waterloo and other cities in Iowa.
Airbnb recently announced it has delivered $900,000 in home sharing tax revenues to host communities throughout Iowa. Airbnb signed a tax agreement with the State of Iowa a little over one year ago, providing what the company terms "important revenue for the state, thanks to continued growth among the local Airbnb community."
