(Mr. Answer Person has received several e-mails with the same question: "Are the Boy Scouts offering to pick up Christmas trees again this year around Decorah?"):
Mr. Answer Person says: "Yes, local Boy Scouts will be picking up the trees on Saturday. If you are wanting to dispose of your live Christmas tree, remove all the lights and ornaments and place the tree at your curb by 8:30 a.m. Scoutmaster Brett Robinson says Scouts will begin picking up trees at 9:00 a.m. and "will go as long as needed." This is a free service, but donations can be made to the Boy Scouts.
If you're strong enough to carry your own Christmas tree to your truck or car, you can drop it off at the City Street Department office on Railroad Avenue until February 1st."
