The Winneshiek Medical Center Board of Trustees has a new member. Karen McLean of Decorah was unanimously appointed to the board on Wednesday night.
McLean is the former Provost of Des Moines University. She retired from that position in 2017. From 1983 through 2009, she held several academic and administrative positions at the University of La Crosse's College of Science and Health.
McLean holds a PhD in exercise science, an MS in adult fitness and cardiac rehab and a BS in physical therapy.
She will replace Judith Robinson on the WMC Board. Robinson has accepted a three-year position in Germany.
McLean will fill the remaining two years of Robinson's term and then can choose in 2020 whether to run for a full four-year term.
