The Executive Director of The Spectrum Network, Bev Fredrick, has resigned and a new Executive Director, Jeannie Barness, has begun working.

Barness was appointed Executive Director just before Christmas.  For nearly the past four years, Barness has worked in multiple positions throughout The Spectrum Network.  She holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration, Health and Human Services along with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

"I am pleased to continue my service in this new role as the organization works to see our clients thrive through the opportunities that we provide with our services.  Our programs are continually being realigned to better facilitate needs for the ever-changing environment," said Barness.

During the three-year tenure of Frederick, The Spectrum Network opened the Spectrum Kitchen, an initiative designed to increase employment opportunities for clients. "We are grateful for the service and hard work Bev has provided in support of the mission of The Spectrum Network," Board Chairperson Steve Langland stated.

The Spectrum Network serves adults with various disabilities and challenges, with a focus on increasing the independence of those clients.  Through various programs in Winneshiek and Howard Counties, The Spectrum Network helps adults with disabilities, mental illnesses and other  barriers so they can lead more productive, independent lives.
