(The following Letter to the Editor has been submitted by Bob Puffer of Decorah):
The judiciary's primary role has always been to interpret the laws that are passed by Congressional districts (national and local) to determine whether they're in accordance with the Constitution of the United States or the constitution governing that pertinent district. Its role has been that way for almost 250 years.
I would hope somebody desiring to understand the system of 'checks and balances' would desire to learn this and not complicate the District 55 election issues with a major national debate such as the Affordable Care Act."
