Owners of Nordic Express say they plan to reopen

It will take awhile to repair the damage done by an early-morning fire Monday at the Nordic Express convenience store on Montgomery Street in Decorah.  The business' owners say they do plan to reopen, however.

They huddled with a representative from their insurance company on Tuesday.  The bathroom in the business was seriously damaged and it may take three to four weeks worth of work before the business can reopen.

Burls, which is part of the building, is also closed--even though the marquee sign says "BURLS NOW OPEN."
