Luther College is unveiling a new student publication sponsored by the Center for Ethics and Public Engagement. "The Chessboard" contains student-written essays on a variety of social, political and cultural topics. The goal of the publication is to stoke campus-wide conversations about contemporary issues.

Center for Ethics and Public Engagement Director Victoria Christman says, "This is an entirely student-produced publication. The Center for Ethics and Public Engagement helped with funding and logistics, but really from start to finish it is a student initiative."

Luther College students Karl Badger and Kelao Charmaine Neumbo serve as "The Chessboard" editors. They say, "We ask students to use this publication to move their unique ideas forward so they may be contemplated, discussed and challenged in daily conversations."

"The Chessboard"  will be distributed around campus, particularly in the Union.

Students are encouraged to keep the conversation going by emailing their thoughts, reactions, and artwork to lutherchessboard@gmail.com.
