The Decorah Thrivent Community had a terrific turnout for their "Generosity on Tap: Holiday Kindness for Kids" event at Pulpit Rock Brewery.  Donations were collected to help those in need in the local community.

The fundraising event resulted in an estimated $5,000 of goods that have been distributed to various local organizations, including Kaden's Kloset: Decorah. Items collected consisted of peanut butter, diapers, quarters for laundry, soaps, baby formula, socks, winter gear and nonperishable food items.

"It's always remarkable to see our community come together to support those in need.  We're excited to experience the local impact this group will have as we work to host similar events in the future," said Thrivent associate Amanda Kupka. "We're proud to be able to join our members and other guests in serving and strengthening our community."

Planning is in the works for a Spring 2019 event, during which new playground equipment will be installed at the Freeport Park.
