Decorah Community Food Pantry receives a large donation

The Decorah Community Food Pantry has received a donation of one entire steer from Maren and Tom Beard of Luna Valley Farm. The donation is equal to 500 to 700 pounds of grass-fed beef.  It is being shared with Northeast Iowa households throughout the month of December.

"We find joy in thinking about other households in Northeast Iowa gathering around the table to enjoy our beef this holiday season," said Maren Beard.

The donation of the beef was also made possible through Nick and Courtney Rowley of Decorah, who paid for the processing of the steer.

The Decorah Community Food Pantry is a registered non-profit so all contributions are tax deductible.
