The Winneshiek County Compensation Board has voted 6-1 to recommend the approval of four percent pay raises for 2019-2020 for elected county officials.
The recommendation by board members Al Etteldorf, Jim Burns, William Remington, Nina Taylor, Mark Jensen and Ron Stoskopf will be voted on by county supervisors in March following a public hearing on the 2019-2020 budget. Board member Tade Kerndt cast the lone dissenting vote.
The Board recommended a 5 percent pay raise for Sheriff Dan Marx, which would raise his salary to $87,718.
