Judge sets hearing in District 55 vote recount for December 20th

The legal battle over 33 absentee ballots cast in Winneshiek County for the Iowa House District 55 race will continue for another two weeks.

Judge Scott Beattie has scheduled December 20th for a hearing on the motion by Winneshiek County to move court hearings on the issue to Decorah. Beattie has given until Monday, December 17th for the parties to file comments in the case. The December 20th hearing at this point is scheduled to be held at 1:30 p.m. in Des Moines in a Polk County courtroom.
