Winneshiek Medical Center has a fleet of three ambulances. One of those ambulances will soon be replaced with a new ambulance.
The hospital's Board of Trustees has approved spending $190,173 for the new ambulance. WMC has a schedule of replacing an ambulance once every three years. That means an ambulance is nearly 10 years old by the time it is replaced. At replacement, the ambulance normally has traveled nearly 200,000 miles. Combined, the three ambulances owned by Winneshiek Medical Center travel over 60,000 miles a year.
