Hit and run accident causes $5,000 of damage

On Wednesday at 5:34 a.m, the Decorah Police Department responded to a two-vehicle accident near the intersection of Highway 9 and Highway 52.

51-year-old Danny Mulholland of New Albin was westbound on Highway 9 near the Highway 52 intersection when a semi truck and trailer traveling in the same direction sideswiped the left side of his 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier by crossing into Mulholland's lane of travel. The semi tractor continued onward without stopping, possibly unaware contact had been made with another vehicle. Mulholland's vehicle sustained $5,000 of damage.
