Two-vehicle accident causes $17,000 of damage

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle accident Thursday shortly before 8:30 a.m.

27-year-old Katie Casterton of Decorah was traveling south on County Road W42. 62-year-old Mark Johnson was traveling north and turned around at the intersection of County Road W42 and Lincoln Highway. Johnson began to turn left onto County Road W42 from a stop sign and Casterton struck Johnson. No ambulance transport was needed but the accident caused $17,000 of damage. Johnson was cited for failure to yield from a left turn.
