How will the projects suggested by the Community Visioning group get funded?

The Decorah City Council got a chance Monday evening to review the suggestions made by the Community Visioning group--suggestions aimed at making Decorah a more walkable community.

Members of the community group showed off their concepts at a work session of the city council.  They discussed College Drive, Heivly Street, Water Street and other roads in the city and ways these roads could be made more walkable.

City council member Ross Hadley suggested the group's ideas might have "synergy with (planned) road projects."  For instance, the city council is working on reconfiguring and repaving Locust Road.  The Locust Road intersection with College Drive would be part of that project.  Monday evening the Community Visioning group presented ideas for making the intersection easier to cross for bicyclists and walkers.

Hadley says in the same way, suggestions made by the Visioning Group could be included in any future plans for redoing Day Spring Lane and in any other future road projects.
