The official results are in from Iowa House District 55

County Auditors in Winneshiek, Clayton and Fayette counties have completed their canvases of votes cast for Iowa House District 55 on November 6th.

In Winneshiek County, Republican Mike Bergan has picked up 6 votes, while Democratic challenger Kayla Koether has picked up 8 votes.  In Clayton County, Bergan did not pick up any votes, while Koether added one vote to her total.  In Fayette County, Bergan added 11 votes, while Koether added 9 votes.

That means Bergan had a total of 6,919 votes, while Koether was seven votes behind with 6,912 votes.

If Koether would like a recount of the ballots, the deadline for filing such a request is 5:00 p.m. Friday.
