(Sally, among others, e-mails Mr. Answer Person: "In the western sky northwest of Decorah Saturday night around 8:00, we witnessed a light show, which looked like heat lightning in the summertime, that lit up the horizon along with a rhythmic booming that sounded like thunder. This lasted for about 15 to 20 minutes...Some thought it was a fireworks display, but the sky was so widely lit that it seemed unlikely that fireworks would be seen from such long distances by some of those who commented. How mysterious!"):

Mr. Answer Person says: "Numerous people contacted the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office about the noises, but by the time a deputy arrived in the area, everything was quiet.  The Sheriff's Office also believes it was a fireworks display, but, as of now, there is no official Big Bang Theory."
