Two elected to Winneshiek County Soil & Water Conservation Commission

The election of two members of the Winneshiek County Soil & Water Conservation Commission was a close affair Tuesday.
Castalia farmer Dennis Blumhagen was the top vote getter with 4,904 votes cast for him. Blumhagen graduated from South Winn, Iowa State, served 6 years in the National Guard, and taught Voc Ag at South Winn for 12 years.
Incumbent Mark R. Jensen was the next highest vote getter with 4,678 ballots cast for him. Jensen is an agricultural lender at CUSB Bank in Ridgeway.
The third place finisher--but close behind--was Decorah resident Ross Evelsizer, who received 4,190 votes. Evelsizer works at NE Iowa Resource Conservation & Development, Inc. where his title is Watershed Planner and GIS Specialist.
